April 19 – Mrs. Guldin's class was the 200th class to visit the Read and Ride room, logging a total of 5,000 miles!

April 5 –  Education World published an article about the Read and Ride program.

March 21 –  84 people follow Read and Ride on Facebook.

March 10 –  Florida's Sun Sentinel newspaper ran an article about 2 schools starting Read and Ride programs.

Feb. 23 – 100 people follow Twitter postings of  Read And Ride.

Feb. 16 – WXII-12 News Anchor Kimberly Van Scoy interviewed students, Mrs. Greenwood and Mr. Ertl to
                 feature the Read and Ride program.

Feb 2. – 68 people follow Twitter postings of Read and Ride.

Jan. 29 – The Read and Ride room has been used 160 times by third, fourth and fifth grade classes.
              Students have logged 4,000 miles and read a combined total of over 1,000 hours of extra reading!

Jan. 6 – Started Twitter account to share updates with interested followers.

Jan. 5 – Students logged 3,150 miles, reaching our first goal to pedal from Winston-Salem to Los Angeles, CA!
             (Mapquest determined that the distance was 2,464, but we surpassed that goal by 686 miles!)

Dec. 8 – Mrs. Lyle's class was the 100th class to use the Read and Ride room!

Dec. 3 – The Read and Ride room has been used 93 times by third, fourth and fifth grade classes.
              Students have logged 2,325 miles and read a combined total of over 581 hours of extra reading!

Nov. 28 – 48 fans on Read And Ride Facebook page.

Nov. 16 – Received second phone call from the White House. They are very interested in the program and will start arranging the logistics and approvals for the First Lady to possibly visit our school. No definite confirmation or timeline would be guaranteed.

Nov. 13 – 41 exercise bikes!

Nov. 4 – Received a phone call from the White House saying that they received our letters, they asked us questions about the program, and they expressed their support of the program.

Oct. 28 – Sent 151 letters from students and teachers to the First Lady to invite her to our school.

Oct. 25 – Started Facebook fan page for Read And Ride.

Oct. 2 – 30 exercise bikes! Mrs. Tricia Hall’s class was the first to use the Read and Ride room

Sept. 28 – Local WFMY News 2 ran their segments on the Read and Ride program.

Sept. 24 – The Clemmons Courier featured an article about the program and to assist with donations.

Sept. 23 – Mrs. Brooke Flynt’s class was filmed by WFMY News 2 reading and riding 12 exercise bikes.

Sept. 12 – Posted a listing on Freecycle.com to request exercise bike donations.

Sept. 11 – The Winston-Salem Journal featured an article about the program to assist with donations.

Sept. 8 – Sent flyers home with all students to request donations for exercise bikes, magazines and music stands.

Sept. 4 – Posted a listing on Craigslist.com to request exercise bike donations.

Sept. 2 – We received our first exercise bike from Mrs. Shirley Hyde!

Sept. 1 – Announced the Read and Ride program on our school’s WARD-TV show.
